After we all woke up Sunday morning exhausted but around 9:00, it was time to get breakfast, return the ATVs and pack up. We had a little trouble at the ATV shop due to the fact that while we were driving one car bumped the back of another and the tail light got smashed. Unfortunately, the guy charged my friend Lauren 20 euros to get this fixed which is ridiculous due to the fact that it was a piece of plastic. Anyway, after we returned the ATVs, while other sat outside to get a tan, Laura and I went shopping in the town of Santorini. We wanted to see everything at least one more time before we had to leave the beautiful island. While on the strip, we met Danielle, Allison, Alex, and Nita (the four girls that stayed at the other hotel) and shopped around with them for a while. At 2:00 we returned to our hotel, got our luggage, and the hotel bussed us to the ferry port again. Meredith and I were scared just even looking at this zig-zag hill for the last time because of the torment it caused us the previous day. When we reached the bottom, our friends were still in shock that we managed to drive down this mountain on an ATV. We waited for the ferry for about and hour and when it came at 3:30 everyone piled on because it was a transfer ferry so there were not many seats and we still had two stops to make on the way home. The group had to sit outside because there was no indoor seating left/ unless you paid for the business class seats but it wasn't too bad anyway. We read, slept, listened to music, played RUMMY 500 for about 2 hours, watched Meredith stick cards on her face because she was "sticky" and basically were delirious by the end of the 8 hour ferry ride. Luckily, we caught the last possible metro back to Monastriki and everyone jammed into the apartment. The internet went really slow considering there were 19 teenagers that had been deprived of it for the weekend. Since it was father's day, we were all trying to use the phone or skype and eventually around 2:30 am everyone was sleeping.
Class monday morning was definitely interesting. Jane knew we were exhausted and she was just happy that we were all safe and stuck together. I think she really likes the fact that our group is so close and we go on the island trips together. After class yesterday I just hung out and tried to get everything back together and ready for the island of Paros this weekend. At around 3:30, a group of us went to visit the well-known shoemaker in Athens named The Poet - it used to be this old guy (now it is his son) and he makes all of the leather shoes he sells and before you buy them, he tried to adjust or design them to fit your feet. Unfortunately I didn't find any shoes in there that I like (yeah I know you guys are probably all laughing because I am so picky!) but it was a cool place to go visit considering he has made shoes for some celebrities. Later on in the night, Ashely, Tasha, Wes and I watched Transformers but I was still so tired from the weekend that I fell asleep halfway through the movie. =] (it was ok because I've seen it before!) As for now I am just hanging out because at 5:00 we are going to visit the Temple of the Olympian Zeus!!
